Getting ahead of myself, I'm just really hyped up about a bunch of different things - namely OMG things I'm thankful for this year!
(Everyone reading this is going "I'm not sure what they mean by the title," or "It's not even Thanksgiving (US) week yet, why are they bringing this up?" but... I can be a little preemptive, can't I?)
AT ANY RATE I'm really thankful that, since June 2025, I have been able to keep readers entertained with my random posts here on Mathie's Memos. It was a shot in the dark, and I really didn't have to bother with it due to the fact that I post randomly on Facebook anyway, but...
...
Thank you for visiting this website on occasion - if this is your first visit, or your 30th, thank you for coming here and seeing whatever it is that I have posted that your eyes espy.

The book DRASTIC CHANGES did surprisingly well for a first attempt. The other two were duds, but that was to be expected -- they weren't listed as freebies. That will be changing this weekend in reference to the Doctor Who anniversary starting this Sunday on November 23rd!

AO3 took a little of my time, as I was working on a fan-fanfiction for a friend of mine that had been started ages ago from an opening snippet written in 2011. At the end of September I was surprised by a comment and (if you are reading this, it isn't your fault - I'm wired this way), like a deer in headlights, I have been placed into a state of limbo. I know what I want to write, but I feel like it will never be enough.
Anything that I present to the public, upon given kudos in any large format, makes me feel as if my next piece or next chapter will never hold up to the light that has caught someone's attention.
I need to stop that - I make and write directly for my own personal enjoyment, not for kudos and not for the direct enjoyment of others. What I do is to make me happy, and -- in turn -- I present it to give others happiness.
...hopefully that makes sense.
I should get back to work on it in December, but I will promise nothing.

Inktober [previous post here] (the dreaded month of doodling known as October to the uninitiated) started off as a big YAY! and I ...didn't make it past ten digital doodles for Weird Inktober and about the same number for the actual inked pieces. My first few days with ink were really quick and cute. The more I worked on things, the more detailed they became - a one-hour doodle became a three-day event and I had to go from a large format to a 3"x3" square and... yeah.
Inktober was fun, but I hung up my hat because I could not keep up production over the course of the deadline. The digital ones were all the same size, and almost all of them were the same color, but when one of them became a three day fun fest, I put it away. (It will become a coloring sheet at some point.)

From Inktober, and my internal craft goblin's love of supplies, I've been able to learn more about my own personal growth with inking on various types of paper. I have also gotten my feet wet with TRT again, and already have five prompts situated (two of them are finished).
Once upon a time I actually dabbled in ATC (Artist Trading Cards) and artists looking to trade would sometimes give one another TRTs (Three Random Things) to make a completely unique item.
My "Three Random Things" sketchbook is actually an awesome hardback 44 page 5.5"-square watercolor paper notion, and I will only use one side of each page so I can do a bit of multimedia if I want to and not feel totally guilty about it.

Because my life has gone from being somewhat obscure to being a full-blown "Okay, how am I supposed to do this and keep my sanity?" moment in the past week...
...I can now say that I will be doing far more than just giving a quick "Hi, look what I found, isn't this pretty?" about art supplies. Am I an influencer? Hardly. Will I try to give you decent overview of things that I'm trying and using? Yes.
Ladies, gentlemen, and the undisclosed: This is your newest Amazon products promoter coming to you by written word letting you know there are new things on the horizon beyond just this website.
