How I found the NIMO N151 Laptop....

I'm not tech-savvy.

If I could have a properly working desktop computer running on Windows 95, fully capable of withstanding today's online onslaught, I would hold on to that operating system for life.

If Windows 95/98 were out of the question, next best is Windows XP.

Because I am not tech savvy, and my 20-year-old Windows XP laptop finally kicked the bucket, I settled for an out-of-date (cheap beyond belief) Chromebook last year just to keep a computer system with a keyboard near my hands.  Everything else I own that is connected to some form of internet connection is either 1) a "smart" TV, or 2) a smartphone -- and, no matter what, I try to hold on to everything I purchase as long as humanly possible before spending more money on something that I may or may not enjoy using....

The Chromebook in question was basically a ghost and, truly, was only good enough to browse the internet and type away at keys rather than hunt and peck on a phone to make a decent post.  Okay, okay, so it was also still viable as a phone-conduit through Google Voice -- but, because it was tethered to the wall, the ability to use it for such was moot.

I would have paid twice as much for a battery than what I paid for the Chromebook, and ...I used it as needed while constantly looking for something better.

Being a writer, I really wanted to find something that was more akin to my 2003 Dell D600 (for nostalgia, here's a quick glimpse towards what I'm referring) but with a lot more kick.  Being an artist ...from 2003 through 2015, that little thing was still able to kick a few good pieces out in the digital format, but there's no way I would be able to really do much with it now.

With the huge array of possibilities, I actually just kept using the Chromebook because it was safe.  I could write with abandon on that, doodle on my phone, and find a happy middle ground.

2025: Enter the "but I don't want to play second fiddle" art side of me browsing for laptops with everything I needed to make both sides happy, but struggling to find one within my price range.  2-in-1 notions really took my fancy, and I kept my attention in the refurbished sections to see if anything was low enough in price but still met my needs (if it did, I either didn't have the money on hand, or someone grabbed it before I could look at it properly)...

...and, right before the upcoming Prime Days, I stopped looking for specifics and just started browsing.

Call me crazy.

I kept my price range low, I looked at any Windows OS available within my budget, and I didn't care if it was listed for art or gaming -- if it shouted at me, I was going to look at it!

After three days, I almost gave up.  Shouts were heard, but nothing jumped out saying "YES! YES! TAKE ME HOME, I WILL BE YOUR EVERYTHING!" (Don't lie, we have all had at least one object tell us that.)

NIMO kept popping up in my feed as a gaming console, but the price was way off point; 700-900$US on sale?  Yes, yes, they have cute colors........

Then this little darling blue 15.6" NIMO with 16 GB RAM and1TB SDD came into my line of sight and I knew I found "the one."

I'm still trying to get used to Windows 11, but if I had to go back and do it all over again? I wouldn't have waited an extra day to think about it.
